internal-comms is an Anthropic example skill that teaches Claude how to write the internal communications most teams produce every week. It is small and practical: a routing instruction plus guideline files for specific formats, so updates come out consistent instead of reinvented each time.

Who it is for

Managers, team leads and engineers who write recurring updates and want them consistent; and companies that want to encode their own comms templates once so every Claude-written update follows them.

What it does

When you ask for any internal communication, Claude:

1. Identifies the type of communication.
2. Loads the matching guideline from examples/:
   • 3p-updates.md for Progress, Plans, Problems team updates
   • company-newsletter.md for company-wide newsletters
   • faq-answers.md for answering common questions
   • general-comms.md for everything else
3. Follows that file’s instructions for format, tone and what information to gather.

Covered use cases include status reports, leadership updates, project updates, incident reports, newsletters and FAQ responses.

Tips and limits

• The real value comes from customizing examples/ with your organization’s templates; the defaults are generic.
• Feed it facts: link the PRs, tickets or Slack threads. With the Slack MCP or Linear MCP connected, Claude can gather them itself.
• Review numbers and names before sending; the skill shapes writing, it does not verify facts.
