claude-md-management is an Anthropic plugin for keeping CLAUDE.md files useful over time. It has two parts: a skill that audits your CLAUDE.md files against the current codebase, and a /revise-claude-md command that captures what Claude learned in the current session.
Checked 24 Oct 2026 against the plugin’s README, skill and command files, and marketplace.json.
Who it is for
Anyone whose CLAUDE.md has drifted from the code, and teams that want project memory to improve after each session instead of rotting.
Install
/plugin install claude-md-management@claude-plugins-official
Audit with a plain request:
audit my CLAUDE.md files
Capture session learnings:
/revise-claude-md
What it does
- claude-md-improver (skill): finds every CLAUDE.md in the repo, scores each against quality criteria, shows a report, then makes targeted updates once you approve.
- /revise-claude-md (command): reflects on the session (commands used, style patterns, testing approaches, gotchas), decides whether each note belongs in shared
CLAUDE.mdor personal.claude.local.md, and drafts concise one-line additions.
Pros
- Turns “update the docs” into a repeatable step.
- Keeps additions short, since CLAUDE.md is part of every prompt.
- Separates team-shared notes from personal ones.
Cons and caveats
- Short README; the detail lives in the skill and command files.
- Review every addition: a wrong rule in CLAUDE.md affects every future session.

Frequently asked questions
Will it edit my CLAUDE.md without asking?
The claude-md-improver skill presents a quality report first and updates files only after you approve.
When should I run /revise-claude-md?
At the end of a session that revealed missing context, such as a command you discovered, a testing approach that worked or an environment quirk.
Which files does it look at?
CLAUDE.md files anywhere in the repo plus .claude.local.md for personal, gitignored notes. The skill also knows about ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md for user-wide defaults.
